Join us on Saturday, June 20th (while social distancing and visiting safely) at the “Say Their Names: Silver Lake Memorial” art installation at the Silver Lake Reservoir in Los Angeles, CA. Together, we’ll show our support for our friends in the Black community and pay our respects. We will send you the exact meeting location as the date gets closer. More about the memorial art installation here.

We will be handing out limited edition #WIMPride tee shirts to current WIM members. You’ll notice that our #WIMPride logo pays homage to the the Philly flag with the color bars. It also represents the beauty of our inclusive and respectful community of all colors, genders, sexualities, our allies. We are connected by love of the art and craft of filmmaking. 

To get your tee shirt, meet us at the WIM LGBTQ+ Pride Rally point between noon and 2pm on June 20th. We look forward to seeing everyone, sharing socially distant air hugs, and giving away shirts to our current members (while supplies last). We recommend bringing lunch, snacks and water. We wish that we could bring our usual spread, but it’s not safe enough to do so at this time.

Wear a mask

We cannot stress enough the importance of wearing PPE over your nose and mouth. The CDC tells us that face coverings protect you and other around you. Be a responsible member of the community and wear your mask! We will also have hand sanitizer with us, although you are welcome to use your own.

Parking

Well…. it’s Silver Lake. Parking is only slightly better than usual, so read the signs and give yourself enough time to park or walk to the Rally Point. If you are comfortable doing so, use a ride-share service. 

Women In Media Pride is a two-part celebration of our LGBTQ+ members and friends and their supporters in the entertainment industry. The #WiMPride Rally and the Virtual Brunch are open to members and non-members alike. We encourage everyone who supports inclusiveness and fairness in the film industry to join us.
