Two-Year Fellowship
With support from the California Arts Council, WOMEN IN MEDIA is introducing the Developing Filmmaker Fellowship, a two-year educational mentorship program available to young adults seeking entry-level career opportunities in the entertainment industry in the greater Los Angeles area.
Who Can Apply
18 to 24 year old female, female-identifying, and/or gender nonconforming filmmakers from any behind-the-scenes discipline. Must be able to attend WiM programs and events in person in Los Angeles. Current WiM members are welcome to apply. The application is free.
Program Timeline
October 15, 2023: Application Deadline
December 2023: Fellows Announced at the WiM Holiday Toast
January 2024: Fellowships commence
About the Fellowship
Two Fellows will receive complimentary pro-level Women In Media memberships for two years (including support to develop a WiM CrewList profile); complimentary admittance to all applicable programs, events and training opportunities offered by WiM during the Fellowship; one-on-one coaching from industry mentors; and the opportunity to receive a paid, entry-level internship with one of WiM’s industry partners.
The fellowship is aimed at underserved communities who might not have the network, guidance, or the means to enter the entertainment industry.
