All genders are encourage to spend time with us at the booth. Expect to meet some rock stars of the industry as well as emerging filmmakers who love the art and craft of visual storytelling.

Altitude Awards

Join us in celebrating women in the cinematographic arts! There will be 10 semifinalists, 4 finalists, and 1 emerging filmmaker. All of them will collect amazing prizes as they join us on stage. All Cine Gear pass holder are invited to the ceremony, and there is no additional fee. All Altitude Awards participants are invited to join us at the Cine Gear VIP party and red carpet in the Paramount Theater immediately after the ceremony.

Icon Award 2023 ~ Juliane Grosso

The Icon Award celebrates a woman at the corporate level who has a long standing record of supporting the entertainment community, earning the respect and admiration of her peers.

Women In Media is pleased to present Juliane Grosso the 2023 Icon Award during the Altitude Awards during Cine Gear. 

Juliane is the legendary CEO of Cine Gear Expo.  She and her late husband, Karl Kresser started the event 27 years ago with just six exhibitors.  The expo has grown to over 300 exhibitors and thousands of attendees every year with master classes, a student film competition, and speaker sessions.

Juliane has been a tremendous champion of the entertainment industry, working to support the vendors by connecting them to creative professionals at Cine Gear.  We are thrilled to honor her resilience, enthusiasm, and community spirit.

Panel ~ How Artificial Intelligence Will (or Won’t) Change The Entertainment Industry

Join us for a lively panel about AI and how it will (or won’t) change how we make movies and t.v. shows. We will discuss how AI can help our workflows and creativity, what the future holds for intellectual property, and if the machines are really coming to take our jobs.

Eve Psalti Senior Director at Microsoft Artificial Intelligence 
Eve Psalti has been a tech and business leader for over 20 years, and currently serves as the Senior Director at Microsoft’s Azure AI engineering organization responsible for scaling and commercializing artificial intelligence solutions.  A native of Greece, she holds a Master’s degree and several technology and business certifications from London Business School and the University of Washington.  Eve currently serves on the board of WE Global Studios, a full-stack startup innovation studio supporting female entrepreneurs.

Christiane Kinney Attorney, and President of Kinney Law, P.C.
Christiane Kinney is an attorney on the forefront of innovation in entertainment law, addressing complex legal issues pertaining to the metaverse, NFTs, and the future of AI. She has been honored as one of Billboard’s Top Music Attorneys, and one of the Top Women Attorneys and Women of Influence in Los Angeles by LA Business Journal.  Christiane mentors law students from Pepperdine and Loyola Law Schools, is a high school mock trial coach, and co-founded Hearts Giving Hope Foundation, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides free music and art programs to children in underprivileged and underserved communities.

Laura Pursley Entertainment Technology Marketer Director
Laura Pursley is a marketer who has worked at the cutting-edge of entertainment technology for the past decade. Laura has led camera launches for Sony and Panavision and enterprise campaigns for Adobe and  She was instrumental in the expansion of post house Light Iron from its flagship facility in Hollywood to six locations around the country.  Laura serves on the Hollywood Professional Alliance’s Women in Post Committee, and frequently volunteers as a career mentor.
