Idit Dvir earned her MFA in Cinematography at the AFI (American Film Institute) in Los Angeles, where she was the recipient of the 2005 Hollywood Foreign Press Association Scholarship. She interned under Kramer Morgenthau ASC on the blockbuster FRACTURE and shot DISFIGURED for writer/director Glenn Gers. Her directorial debut short, CHERCHEZ LA FEMME, screened at deadCENTER and Clermont Ferrand. Her short script VIRGINS WEAR FLATS made Official Selection at the Beverly Hills Film Festival. Her feature length screenplay COOKIE CUTTERS was a quarter finalist at the Cinequest Film Festival. Her feature length screenplay TAKE BACK was a quarter finalist at Final Draft’s Big Break Screenwriting Competition, Filmmakers’ International Screenwriting Awards, Austin Film Festival and made top 20% at the Nicholls. Idit is an Associate Professor at Howard University (Washington DC), where has taught filmmaking since 2007.
