Pump Up The Volumetric
9-22-23 | 10:00 am – 5:00 pm PDT
Women In Media and Quasar Science are hosting a two day LED stage educational experience on Fridays, September 22 & 29, 2023. Participants will shoot a music video for the song “Never Too Late” by Becca Schack. The song can be heard on her CrewList profile – it’s the first credit.
Join us for a day of orientation as well as the shoot day to have the experience of working in an LED wall setting. This is an opportunity for folks who have experience on traditional sets to get time on a virtual stage to conceptualize and prep quickly for the production and post production. VFX, keys and support crew are invited to be part of this shoot. There is an opportunity to wear multiple hats on the day. We would also like to include BTS crew. The video will be shot MOS, but being a music video, we will need playback.
This is a volunteer, educational project. We will only use what we borrow through our own resources and connections. Think of it as a 48 hour film project, but with slightly more time and better gear. Food and drink will be provided for Orientation and Shoot days. This opportunity is for Women In Media members, unless we cannot fill a position.
After the Women in Media premiere, the project will be available to all who worked on it, to distribute on free to watch platforms – in fact we hope that you will post it on your socials and tag as many crew members (and Quasar + Women In Media) as possible. It’s all about promoting your work and what you’ve learned!
Important Dates
September 22nd 10 AM – 5 PM: Orientation (education and planning)
September 29th 9 AM – 5 PM: Shoot (implementation of plan and education)
Post production until October 18th
A Private Screening will be part of the Level Up Showcase on October 21st (invitation only)

Note:
- Those involved must be available and in attendance at both the Orientation and Shoot.
- There will be meetings with keys prior to the Orientation and Shoot (as there are for any shoot).
