Women In Media welcomed our members to celebrate our new office at Tiffen in Burbank, CA! We had a networking meeting where members in all departments spent quality time getting to know each other, followed by two optional break out sessions – Steadicam Training and The Thriving Together Seminar.

Member Meeting ~ 5/20

We started the day with breakfast, a short presentation about the Women In Media #HireTheseWomen ecosystem, and networking. A contact sheet was distributed to everyone who opted in for continued networking beyond the event.

Thriving Together ~ 5/20

Thriving Together seminar (Saturday), was an active, hands on approach to presenting yourself and networking effectively. This seminar aimed to address impostor syndrome, social anxiety, and fear of rejection in a way that sets you up for success. Tema Staig taught this popular seminar for the first time since the pandemic.

Steadicam Training ~ 5/20 and 5/21

We are so excited that we were able to offer members’ only Bronze Level Steadicam training. We learned on a number of different rigs with Atlas anamorphic lenses and Angenieux spherical lenses on Netflix approved Blackmagic 12K cameras. Participants were educated on the basics of the gear with time to practice in multiple settings.

WIM Steadicam Certification

Participants who attend the Steadicam course had the option of taking an exam to become WiM Certified. Every participant passed and will receive a “WiM Steadicam Certified” badge on their profile. There will be a pull down on the search that will make it easy for anyone to find our members who have attained certification.
