Virtual Seminar: Script Writing Basics

INTRO TO THE SHORT SCREENPLAY is a class designed to present an overview of the basic elements that make a short screenplay work in terms of structure, character, arcs, plotting, pacing and outlining. Formatting and guidelines for creating a producible short for Women In Media’s CAMERAderie Initiative, will also be discussed.

About the Instructor

Idit Dvir earned her MFA in Cinematography at the AFI. She organized the first round of judging of the 2019 WiM CAMERAderie Initiative. Her screenplays have placed at the Nicholls, Austin Film Festival, Cinequest Film Festival, Final Draft’s Big Break and Beverly Hills Film Festival.

Idit is an Associate Professor at Howard University (Washington DC), where she has taught screenwriting and filmmaking since 2007.
