Join us for a lively online Writers Group Virtual brunch! Members of current Writers Groups will be able to connect to prospective members and there will be new groups to join. We will have breakout rooms after a short presentation about running your Writers Groups. This is a wonderful way to network and connect with fellow Women In Media members.

Writers Groups have been extremely successful in prompting award winning writing in a supportive environment. An ancillary benefit has also been people hiring each other for jobs. All WiM Writers Groups are welcome to use the WiM professional Zoom – just let us know and we’ll set that up for you.

Keynote Presentation

There will be a short presentation by Anisa Alarnia about writing for t.v. Anisa is a Programmer for TV and Web submissions for Dances With Films for the last four years with several years of shorts-program screening under her belt as well. She also currently covers books for AMC development on a contract basis.

Anisa will be talking about research, tips for script writing, final production, and resources. There will be time to ask her about submitting to the Dances With Films TV and Web program and what she is looking for to green light episodic projects for major t.v. studios. We are so pleased that she will be giving us the insider’s scoop on what a festival programmer or reader for a major streamer is looking for.

Who May Participate

Participation in the Writers Group is open only to WiM members who will be joining in from across the globe. You must have a Women In Media profile. We recommend updating your CrewList Profile, as it will be shared with other participants.
