Barbie Leung is a New York based cinematographer with a dark lyrical visual style, as showcased in Todd Bogin’s upcoming feature Left With Only Rain.

Leung is a 2021 recipient of The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) Vision Mentorship Program, and in 2019 she was awarded a spot at the AFI Conservatory’s CIW Workshop. Leung is an Associate of the Society of Camera Operators (SOC), and a member of Local 600, the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG).

Recent narrative shorts include Irina Gorovaia’s Yasha’s Tapochki and Jon Lazar’s Zamboni. Other notable work includes the documentary feature Unladylike which world-premiered at AFI Docs 2020. Leung is filming a feature length documentary in 2022 for CNN Films about the rise and fall of social media tech companies.

Leung’s camerawork has also screened at Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, Fantasia, and Outfest.
