#SoMuchSuccess Town Hall 2022
1-23-22 | 10:00 am - 12:00 pm PST
Free – $15.00Photo by Ashly Covington
Let’s rocket boost 2022 with a productive and energizing start!
Women in Media (WiM) members are invited for a virtual networking brunch and town hall. Meet other WiM members in this celebratory networking setting. Attendees will talk about wants, needs, and desires for ourselves, our organization, and the industry in general. And PS, it’s Tema’s birthday, so have something nice to drink for a toast!
Each person in the (virtual) town hall will have 40 seconds to share your name, what you do, and a professional goal for 2022. We will open up breakout rooms where you will meet folks in smaller groups to connect in a fulsome, meaningful way. Let’s see how we can support each other’s objectives in the New Year.
Get Your Ticket ASAP and Fill Out The Contact Sheet
This is a ticketed event (scroll down) with limited spots. You should also fill out the contact sheet (scroll down). The Zoom link will be emailed the night before, and again the day of the Town Hall. This event will not be recorded.
#SoMuchSuccess Town Hall Contact Sheet
Please fill out the form below to be included in the contact sheet that will be sent to everyone who is in the (virtual) room. Only Women In Media members with WiM CrewList profiles will be included in this contact sheet. We suggest that everyone on the list connects with at least three or four new friends following this networking event. If you are not a member yet, please apply ASAP: https://womennmedia.com/join/
Start The New Year Right ~ Update Your CrewList Profile
Be sure that your CrewList Profile is up to date and looking spiffy! Everyone will be checking you out, and you will want to put your best foot forward.
The CrewList is how we maintain transparency, know each other’s skills + abilities and feel confident that we are in good company. Folks can recommend you by copy/pasting your CrewList profile because it’s your public-facing virtual resume plus links, writing samples, sound cloud, and/or reels. The more great information you add, the more evidence we have of your ability to deliver artistically and professionally.
How To Update Your CrewList Profile
Log into the website —> Under the “My Account” drop-down menu —> View Profile —> Click on the little wheel on the right under the background picture and select “Edit Profile”. When you are done, be sure to click the blue “update profile” button at the bottom of the page.
Make sure that you have uploaded an Avatar – the little round picture of you in the left-hand corner. Without this photo, you will not show up in the search.
Three Best Practices Recommendations
Make it easy for people to find, vet, and hire you. Show us your sparkle!
Resist adding more than 3 crew positions, even if you are a multi-talented multi-hyphenate. You are more likely to get hired if you have focused your 10,000 hours in a specific craft, or crafts that complement each other.
Your background picture should be a still from a project you’ve worked on, or of you working. People love seeing pictures of women behind the camera, pointing, getting a fantastic shot, being creative, or working equipment.
Double-check all links to make sure that they are working, including Vimeo and YouTube (they must be in the correct corresponding slot because the two platforms don’t talk to each other).
