36 New Members Selected!
One-Year New and Early Career Membership Initiative
With support from Los Angeles County Arts & Culture, WOMEN IN MEDIA has launched the Activate Impact Initiative, a one-year, grant-funded program available to emerging filmmakers (in any department in pre-production, physical production, or post-production) seeking Women In Media membership and complimentary access to many WiM events. Included are those who have historically experienced barriers accessing these careers.
Who are the Participants?
This Initiative is for early career and emerging professionals aged 18 or over who are underrepresented in the entertainment industry, above or below the line. The grant is aimed at underserved communities and individuals who might not have the network, guidance, or the means to enter the entertainment industry.
Included are those who have historically experienced barriers accessing these careers for any number of reasons.
About the Initiative
Activate Impact Initiative grantees receive complimentary Pro level Women In Media memberships for one year (including support to develop a WiM CrewList profile); complimentary admission to many applicable programs, events; and training opportunities offered by WiM during the grant period.
Program Timeline
October 15, 2024: Applications open
Nov 20, 2024: Application Deadline
January 2025: Grantees Announced
February 2025: Membership for Activate Impact grantees commences
Activate Impact Badge: Activate Impact Participants can be identified by a special badge on their WiM Crew List Profile, showing anyone who searches the Crew List that these new members are interested in mentorship, upskilling, and forging the future of the entertainment industry.
Current Pro and Executive are encouraged to look for new talent by looking for the badge.

We recommend that all WiM Members keep their CrewList profile up-to-date using these guidelines.
