Bex Francis is an Alaskan/Californian Director and Producer who has been in the
business since the late ‘90s. She started her career working in government television,
public broadcasting media, and radio. Currently, she works full-time as the Design
Project Manager for Uptown Studios and Part-time as an Assistant Development Producer for Blue Chair Productions. She Co-Directs the SacFilmChallenge Film Festival and is President & Co-Director of nonprofit SacGeeks which supports local
geek culture. Bex strives for change by spearheading social justice campaigns including the "Not My Hoodie Project.” Her film Smashed, whose crew was 80 percent women, women-identifying, and nonbinary is currently on the festival circuit gathering
awards and accolades along the way. She is currently in development with two films about diverse BIPoC stories she is eager to share with the world.
