Women In Media is pleased to showcase CAMERAderie and New Tech Initiative projects that we have produced with our members. Women In Media initiatives include technical training, development, mentorship, production, and further support. We are grateful to our mentors and vendor partners for their commitment to these projects.
CAMERADERIE FILMS
Both rounds of CAMERAderie films were created with 70% or more Women In Media members in every department.
The program fostered high production value for our member’s 10 page projects, raising their skill levels and connections for career advancement. Participants had hands-on educational opportunities, grip trucks filled with high-end gear, mentorship and networking opportunities. Women In Media also contributed insurance and other production related expenses. There were cast and crew screenings where participants won valuable prizes, including the use of a grip truck filled with gear for an 18 day shoot, software, and cameras.
The program grew to include Illumination training in partnership with MBS Group. We shot films at Television City and NBC Universal stages as well as on location. Our members worked along side union members, with many gaining access to union membership. Our participants have gained the benefits of jobs in television writing rooms and directing gigs, getting hired by other participants, continued mentorship and valuable relationships with vendors and so much more.
