TOY LEI is a director, actor, fight choreographer and swordswoman. Lei has won multiple Best Film, Excellence in Directing, Best Actress, Best Action, Best Stunts awards across the breadth of her projects, and she has screened at festivals such as Etheria and San Diego Comic-con. In 2019 her feature-length script of BOXER was a semifinalist at the iconic Austin Film Fest. In addition, in 2019, she attended the NYWIFT FS2P directing program in New York. Her most recent finished short, MOON, which was shot as part of the Women in Media CAMERAderie production lab, is currently on its fest run, winning a ton of awards. Not only did it win Best Magical Realism and Best Originality/Creativity at the Simi Film Fest, but Toy also won the Laureen and Joyce Callo Award for Best Female Director at the Borrego Springs Film Fest, as well as Best Director at the Wyoming Film Fest. Toy still continues her 2nd unit directing/fight choreography stints several times throughout the year to keep her action skills sharp. She is currently in post-production with her new film CHARLIE, another high-octane fugitive piece shot in the stunning Malibu mountains, which was produced by her directing mentor, Mary Lou Belli. Lei is a proud mom to her puffy white dog, Wilfred.
