Kathy Nicholas graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in ecology. She then got her dream job at the San Diego Zoo where she learned the power of storytelling to connect visitors with the zoo’s conservation mission. She wrote and produced educational video shorts and published several articles in ZooNooz magazine. After a decade at the Zoo, she worked for Polar Bears International leading programs for teens taking climate action for the bears.
With a master’s in nonprofit leadership, Kathy has consulted for a broad range of cause-based organizations including EOD Warrior Foundation and TEDxSanDiego. At International Fund for Animal Welfare, she produced content and events to connect prestige donors with the life-saving work of experts who save stranded dolphins, protect elephants, and rescue pets from floods, hurricanes, and fires.
Kathy is now pursuing TV and screenwriting, creating comedy TV shows that include animals, people and climate stories.
