Cecilia Muylaert is a composer and classically trained pianist whose work bridges classical tradition and contemporary electronic soundscapes. Her music often combines orchestral writing with electronic textures, creating expressive and modern sonic landscapes.
She has collaborated with directors such as Isabelle Gély, Sterenn Guirriec, and Bob Fokoua on award-winning projects, including Gély's documentary L'envol de Violette, which aired on France 5 TV in 2025. That same year, she was nominated for Best Emerging Composer at the Apulia Soundtrack Awards in Italy.
A selected composer at the International Music and Cinema Festival in Marseille in 2023 and 2024, she was also a selected participant in numerous residencies and workshops, including the prestigious SESAC Scores Beck Diversity Project in Los Angeles with Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man) and Danny Lux (Grey’s Anatomy).
She earned a degree in music from the Paris-Sorbonne University before specializing in Film Scoring and Contemporary Composition at the University of Leeds in the UK.
Besides composing for film, she writes music for concert, theatre, and multimedia projects, with her works performed by soloists and chamber ensembles across the United States, England, Scotland, Germany, China, Mexico, and Brazil.
