Script Submission Rules

There is no charge to enter, but Entrants must be Women In Media (WiM) members in good standing. Please submit only finished scripts. Entrants may submit a maximum of two scripts, but each script must be separately submitted. Submissions will be accepted from May 20th – June 3rd, 2019.
Winners will be announced at the WiM Genre Brunch on June 23rd in Los Angeles.

RULES:
* Narrative scripts must be under ten pages and properly formatted.
* Submissions must be capable of being shot within 2 or 3 days (limited company moves).
* Entrants must have a WiM crew list profile.
* Entrants must sign the Parity In Action Pledge: https://womennmedia.com/parityinaction/
* Script Semi-Finalists may be required to participate in an in-person or virtual interview.
* Script Finalists must participate in an orientation and classes taught by seasoned pros during pre-production.
* Script Finalists and their creative and production teams will be referred to mentor(s).
* Script Finalists will be required to sign our CAMERAderie Filmmaker Agreement.
* Script Finalists will produce their films in Los Angeles. Project directors—you or a WiM director—must commit to attending classes and filming in July as well as a WiM CAMERAderie Reception in October.
* Finalists must shoot their film on the provided Black Magic Design cameras as well as the other supplied gear, and post production must use DaVinci Resolve. We will provide list of people who have attended the three-day learning intensive.
* There will be a small budget for Finalists’ Film, but you may solicit funds from other sources.
* Film crews must consist of at least 75% WiM members. The remaining 25% may be from outside WiM, though Finalists are highly encouraged to use people of color. Your key creative crew should be WiM members. Please exhaust our members list before considering non-members.
* The WiM CAMERAderie Reception will be the first time the film is screened.
* Finalists will own rights to the finished project, but WiM will receive on-screen top producer credits, including the WiM logo, sponsor logos (which WiM will provide), and a thank you in the end credits.
* WiM reserves the right to screen and use produced content (including behind-the-scenes material) for any and all promotional purposes, and in its presentations.

Crew Call Rules

CAMERAderie crew members will gain valuable professional development, vendor tours, and networking opportunities. In many cases, there will be mentorship as well. All crew positions are encouraged to apply.  Apply to our crew call here.

Your contact information and crew list profile will be shared with other CAMERAderie applicants with the suggestion that you invite each other out for coffee or lunch. You should start taking meetings to see if you connect well for collaboration, whether as part of the CAMERAderie Initiative and/or to build your general network.

Three finalist scripts will be announced at the WiM Genre Brunch on June 23rd in Los Angeles. In order to be in the best position to crew up and show support for the films, plan to attend the Genre Brunch!

Show your interest via the form so we can share you information with the selected filmmakers.

* Script Finalists and their creative and production teams will be referred to mentor(s) when possible.
* All positions are volunteer in exchange for professional development and/or mentorship and networking opportunities when possible. We do not guarantee every crew member will have a mentor. If you are assigned a mentor, please be respectful of their time and boundaries. They may meet with you in person or via teleconference to review your prep, answer questions, and give guidance.
* Projects will be shot within 2 or 3 days (limited company moves).
